Since only the best is good enough for your beloved four-legged friend, the upper and lower leather of the CANADIAN collar is double-bent elk leather. Bugging is the process of folding in or over in leather processing, which ensures particularly soft edges and maximum wearing comfort. Thanks to years of experience and the optimisation of every single handle, the CANADIAN collar is a timeless classic that discreetly but firmly draws attention to itself and emphasises the grace of every four-legged friend. The finest elk leather from the forests of Scandinavia is used. A leather that is almost unimaginably supple and soft. With regular use, the characteristic grain surface of the natural material darkens somewhat, which underlines the individual, noble character. Note: Our leather is produced as gently as possible. With a dyed leather there may be a slight discolouration.

Measure the circumference of your dog’s neck (A) by placing a flexible tape measure around the middle of the neck. The tape measure should be tight but not restrict your dog. Leave approximately one finger’s breadth between the tape measure and your dog. Because the specifications for adjusting our various collars usually overlap slightly, you do not necessarily have to use the first or last hole to guarantee an optimal fit. Should the circumference of the neck of your dog be at the upper end of the measurements specified then you can alternatively choose the next larger size. This is especially recommended for dogs that are still growing.
Our collar sizes (e.g. size. 30) relate to the total length of the material used without taking the buckle and the fastener into consideration. It should be noted that when considering the range of adjustments the first value relates to the smallest and the second value to the largest adjustment possible.
Elk leather is one of the finest leather of the world. For elk leather the care and handling is especially important. Elk leather should not be exposed to extrem moisture or dirt, as this will damage the leather and the extremly fine leather will look worn.
For the care of the leather it is always recommended: »Less is more!« Elk leather is already greased and only requires a minimum of regreasing. For this purpose, HUNTER has a special leather care product but you can also use baby lotion. If the leather gets wet, it should be ensured that no moisture remains on the metal parts. Quick drying of the leather, for example on the radiator, is not advisable. It is recommended that the articles are dabbed off and dried slowly. Please pay attention to the fact that leather products should not be exposed to extreme wetness. The wellknown HUNTER quality of the leather articles can only be maintained if those are treated correspondingly.
