Kejimkujik Seaside Trail

»We want to start the new year with a lot of hiking. Freya is happy - on a sunny day we walk the Kejimkujik Seaside Trail. As there are some black bears here, Freya has to walk on a leash. No problem, because with the ten-metre field leash from HUNTER we can still give Freya her space and let her explore in peace.

The Harbour Rocks Trail is an easy hike from inland to glittering sandy beaches. The myHUNTER app shows us 5.6 kilometres at the end of the hike. We have a picnic on one of the anthracite-coloured rocks and listen to the sound of the sea for a while. Freya also gets some treats and water from her folding bowl LIST. Around noon we start our way back and Freya, as usual, slumbers soundly in the back seat of our truck.

It is - by Canadian standards - so warm and sunny in January that we plan a bigger hike for the next day. We drive 1.5 hours to Cape Split. Fortunately, driving has never bothered Freya before. For the 12 kilometre trail along steep cliffs, Freya walks on a short leash right by us, just to be on the safe side. A few years ago, a dog fell down the cliff and into the rushing sea. At the end of the trail it is windy and we look for a place to have a snack. By the way, the compostable dog waste bags are also great for packing a snack when you don't have anything else to hand ;). We are looking forward to many more destinations this year and especially Freya can't wait to start a new adventure!«
